I've been there too, so I totally get the struggles you're dealing with. I've created some effective techniques that have worked for me – together, we'll discover the ideal learning path just for you. I have over 7 years of teaching experience and my aim isn't to be your conventional teacher. Instead, I want to be your language companion. I prepare a detailed summary after each lesson (with new exressions, vocabulary and grammar), which I send to my students in PDF/DOC + tailored homework.

What makes my teaching style unique? Well, I've had the privilege of living and immersing myself in different cultures around the world - from the icy landscapes of Greenland to the vibrant communities of Ghana, from Lithuania to the Philippines, and from Germany to Ukraine and the USA. Each stay lasted months or years, giving me deep insights into how people from different backgrounds approach learning.

My name is Bergur and I am here to teach Faroese, a close relative of Icelandic and Old Norse I try to embrace diversity (Faroese: "Fjølbroytni", Danish: "Mangfoldighed") by simply being myself. I love how languages share so many similarities that can be analysed and interpreted. One of my favourite things is to uncover a unique trait is uncovered, some description or nuance that I didn’t know existed and that can help me appreciate life and the world in an even broader way (no pun intended). I believe that languages are the peak of human civilisations’ endeavours to distill existence as we experience it, felt or imagined into a concentrate or an essence that can be displayed for prestige or even better, humbly handed down to future generations.

When you're learning a new language, you automatically also gain knowledge about a new culture. It's like peeping into a whole new world! That is my main motivation for learning a new language - together with of course getting new best friends from all around the world. And the motivation only grows stronger when you move to a country where you don't understand anything at all! I always dive deep into the language that I'm learning. Every time I analyse some aspect of the new language, I find similarities to what I already know, and when I find these treasures, I can’t help to share them. I really love when something, which at first sight seemed very complex, to become rather simple.
