Hello! My name is Jenny. I’m from Qingdao, a city in northern China, and Mandarin is my native language.
I have been a Mandarin teacher for three years. My students have a wide range of Mandarin skill level from absolute beginners to advanced with various learning goals. I enjoy teaching Chinese and making it fun and easy to learn for my students!
I like reading, exercising, and watching TV shows. I also travel a lot when I'm on vacation because I love interacting with people from different cultures.

I'm CTCSOL certified, and have over 2,000 hours of online teaching experience across different platforms.
I help my students improve their listening, speaking, and reading of pinyin syllables and words (e.g., nǐ hǎo) as well as Chinese characters. My students are also much better prepared and more confident to complete their assignments and pass their HSK exams!
I try my best to make my classes fun and informative. I'm very patient and always put my students first in class. I encourage my students to ask questions as often as possible.

Because every student is different, I formulate a learning plan for you based on your learning goals and make regular adjustments based on your progress.
I will teach you new words, grammar, and sentence structures, and help you use them in real Chinese conversation! I will give you as many examples as you need to make sure you understand the principles.
Besides Chinese language knowledge, I will also share authentic Chinese culture with you.
I will send you the notes and exercises after class so you can review whenever you have time. We will also have a conversation in Chinese at the beginning of each class to help you review.我的教材

Jenny is truly a great teacher. Within a very relaxed structure of classes, I am still able to take in a lot of information. Jenny has been great at clarifying usage. I've been learning so many words, but understanding the subtle distinctions in usage and sentence formulation is very important. Jenny is taking me a long way forward in this type of comprehension.
