POLYGLOT with 20+ years of professional teaching experience - German and English . Master's degree from Yale University and the University of Bonn. I retired 3 years ago, and have been teaching online part time since then! I really like meeting new students around the world through italki, and offering my experienced assistance in any way I can!
In my free time I love to travel (have been pretty much all over the world and volunteer at a special school in Kenya during my summer break), do yoga, hike, bike, read, and take long walks with my Chihuahua, Helena, who travels everywhere with me!

In my 20+ years of teaching, I have had experience teaching all kinds and levels of students, from beginner to advanced, from youth to older (yet young at heart and mind!) I can tailor the lessons to your needs! I use both hard copy and online textbooks, and can work with almost any language learning website, should you so desire. My teaching style really depends upon the student or learner, as does the pace. There are many variables involved, and I always endeavor to meet my students’ expectations. Someone who is learning German or English specifically to pass a test will most likely need to have a different teaching approach than someone who is learning the language for personal or business reasons. A younger student will likely appreciate a somewhat different teaching method than an older adult. I try always to make my lessons enjoyable, meaningful, and memorable, and to use different modalities.我的教材

This was my first class with Frau Wolf. We had a 30 minutes experimental class and she was able to put me already through a few things and explain how she usually works and made sure to ask about my expectations and which method I am more comfortable to study and learn. It was a really good first impression, I really liked her and her relaxed way of talking that made me comfortable to talk.
I'm looking forward to more classes.

Frau Wolf is amazing teacher. Many italki teachers don't want to switch to English to explain a point, but Frau Wolf does. I appreciate that. Sometime you cannot understand nuisances of a certain phrase/word unless someone explains it to you in your maternal language. In this lesson, we reviewed a writing assignment she gave me in order to practice the perfect. Throughout the review, she highlighted ways that I could make my piece more natural by including colloquial phrases or reworking things. We discussed East Germany during the Cold War, their view of the wall, and movies that show their particular perspective. We ended the lesson by Frau Wolf teaching me Konjunktiv II. It was a very pleasant lesson and I felt like I understand 90% of what she said.

I loved my lesson with Jennifer. We spoke German right out of the gate and even though I struggled at times, she was patient, helped me say what I was trying to say and kept speaking German rather than switching to English just because my German was beginner and struggling. This is how I like to learn so I am excited for more lessons. I learned lots of new words and some pieces of grammar in a very natural way. I immediately signed up for a package and look forward to continued lessons!
