As a native Dutch speaker who has lived and worked abroad for over seven years, I deeply understand the complexities and beauty of learning a new language. I’ve studied several languages myself— i.e. Spanish, German, French, English, Indonesian, and Latin— to various degrees of success (for instance, don't ask me to string together a sentence in French or Spanish, despite the years of study I had in high school!) so I know firsthand the challenges you might face and which approaches did and did not work for me.
I have both Dutch (mom) and Indonesian (dad) heritage, and have been working, living, and actively learning Bahasa Indonesia in Indonesia for the past 5 years.我的教學經歷
I’m excited to offer personalized Dutch language tutoring for students of all backgrounds and levels. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
While I may not be an officially certified language teacher, I bring over four years of experience as a study and thesis mentor. I’ve successfully guided hundreds of Dutch and international students from diverse (study)backgrounds, including neurodivergent learners, in overcoming challenges, reducing stress, understanding feedback, sprucing up academic skills, and ultimately achieving academic success in their university journey.我的課程內容與教學風格
Language learning is possible at any age - you already have the tools and skills needed to succeed as you have already acquired a language (your own!). With the right mindset and a positive attitude, we’ll build your confidence and celebrate small victories to keep you motivated. Lessons are personalized to your interests, ensuring immediate application. I’ll adapt to your progress and how you learn best and provide a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment. Lessons will be informal, but also structured and with lots of room to reflect, so we can keep track of your progress and continue to grow.我的教材

Net mijn tweede les met Shanice gevolgd! Ze is super vriendelijk en kennisvol! Na elke gesprek geeft ze me uitgebreid feedback en bereid ze de gesprekken heel goed voor. Echt een aanrader voor mensen die hun Nederlands willen verbeteren met 1-op-1 aandacht. Enorm bedankt Shanice, tot de volgende keer :)

Shanice is een uitstekende docent. Ze heeft een duidelijke articulatie en bereidt haar lessen goed voor. Daarnaast is ze vaardig in het oppakken van spontane onderwerpen. Ik kan haar van harte aanbevelen.

Nice introductory lesson with Shanice! She was calm, well-prepared and made me feel very comfortable speaking Dutch. I appreciate that she took notes throughout the class. At the end of the class we also discussed my mistakes and corrected them together. Very much looking forward to future lessons with her!
