Hello！Ciao！你好！My name is Mandy. I was born and raised in China. Mandarin is my native language, I also speak English and Italian. I have studied in Italy and Australia. Now I'm living in China, currently I'm a language worker, mainly focused on translation and interpretation. Nice to meet you here.

When I was in Italy, I worked as a Chinese teacher and helped some Italians with pronunciation, grammar and oral practice. It was a nice experience for me, because not only did I help them with their Chinese studies, but I also made friends with them. I also taught Italian to Chinese students in my country who wanted to go to Italy.

We don’t ever have a lesson plan because we keep the sessions spontaneous, which is what I like and enjoy about learning from Mandy. She is up to discussing current events and various topics that may come up in the conversation/discussion. This allows me to try harder to express myself and likewise opens up new discussions.

Mandy is always ready to listen to my stories about recent experiences and is genuinely interested in what i have to share. I’m comfortable to ask her for feedback on what the counterpart or equivalent of my experiences are in China (e.g. hiking trails, hotels, toilets, etc).

She is genuinely interested in the topics that we discuss, which can be related to our countries, our families, culture, etc. There is a healthy exchange of ideas and impressions.

We discussed the Olympics! It’s great to be able to discuss current events like what’s on (nearly) everybody’s consciousness at the moment. We learned about each other’s countries focus on sports and where one another’s sporting interests lie.

Helpful as always with teaching me to properly phrase my ideas. Mandy also asks questions about the topics I am interested in and offers suggestions like tv series that are aligned with my interest as well as helping improve my Chinese.
