Duck Tran

This is only my second lesson. It is very helpful that he understands what basic information to present and then adds levels of nuance and grammar to add so I can start to form a sentence that would be understood first. Then he adds a point of grammar that makes the sentence more precise and I practice applying that to simple sentences we worked on earlier. And all the time he is sprinkling in new vocabulary words. It feels like a very good value, and also a very good mental exercise. I really appreciate that he sends the notes after the lesson so I can focus on what we are doing during the lesson.

It's obvious Duck has a lot of experience explaining the Vietnamese language to foreigners, his English is excellent and he's great about coming up with conversation questions that will test the skills you've recently learned. He also knows southern and northern accents (which have a lot of important variations) so he will help you no matter which accent you plan to learn. I highly recommend him!

As an experienced language learner and teacher, Duck is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had! We really have many in common and after one week he challenged me to translate sentences from Vietnamese into English and vice versa, and even to read Shakespeare's philosophy , which we succeeded together. This is mind-blowing and so motivating at the same time. :) cảm ơn anh!
