Moi, mitä kuuluu?
I'm Jenni, a professional Finnish teacher who will help you reach your language goals.
Born and raised in Southern Finland near Tampere. University studies and work brought me to Helsinki for 10 years. Later I decided to work around the world and lived all over Asia and Oceania.
Having studied 5 foreign languages myself, I know the challenges of bringing language skills to everyday situations. I hope to motivate and challenge all my students to improve to their best abilities!
Learning happens one step at a time. I work hard to deliver both functional and fun lessons to each student.

I have been teaching since 2014 when I received my teaching certificate.
I have worked in language centers around the world, eg. Ireland, China, Japan, New Zealand.
I am specialized in teaching customized communicative Finnish: from total beginners to intermediate students, levels A0 - B2.
I have plenty of experience teaching all levels, all ages, students of different backgrounds and various language goals. My students have been a mixture of entire kindergarten groups, pensioners, business professionals, language enthusiasts, exchange students and test preppers, etc.

My lessons are 100% customised to fit the needs of my students. First we discover your language goals, challenges and needs: then make a plan on how we can achieve those goals.
I plan the lessons based on your goals, needs and wants. Depending on your interests, I customise the best possible lessons individually for you - whether it is grammar, conversation, learning vocab or preparing for a language exam, or a mixture of all of these.

Jenni is an excellent teacher. She is always well prepared, enthusiastic, and patient. Finnish can be very difficult and confusing but she takes things in manageable pieces and builds on it step by step. The homework is easily accessible and is supportive of what we worked on in the lesson.

The sessions are tailored to your progression and what is most beneficial to learning. For example, we practice local cases and verbs that would be useful for traveling. This allows for a very practical approach to learning. Jenni also provides encouragement and helpful feedback on pronunciations.
