Hi! I'm Shallom and I am 26 years old. I was born in Zimbabwe but moved to South Africa in my early years. I possess a Bachelor of Education degree and I would describe myself as a bubbly person who loves interacting with people. My interests include learning new languages, listening to music and deepening my knowledge on cultures. I speak English, Shona, Chichewa and isiZulu and I'm in the process of learning Korean and Japanese. I look forward to seeing you in class 💜🤗

I am a very passionate and fun teacher who puts her students first. I put effort and care into making sure that they get to or beyond the level that they desire. As a speaker of three other languages, I am very much aware of what learning and teaching approaches work and don't work when trying to acquire a new language. Therefore, I am a teacher who understands and feels the aspirations and frustrations of new language acquisition and will use my personal experiences to make the learning journey as easy and fun as possible for all my students. I have tutoring experience as well as a Certificate in Pre-school education. My classroom atmosphere is relaxed and exciting.

My lessons will be conversational, however the focus will vary depending on the student's current abilities. These lessons will be unique to each student and teaching materials in the form of quizzes, pdf files etc. will be provided and accessible to students. My teaching philosophy is 'No two individuals are the same.' which personally means that my teaching style is not limited to one because I adjust myself to the type of learner I have under my care. However, it is worth noting that the Direct method (oral or natural method) which is centered around discussions when learning new languages will play a significant role in my teaching as a way to promote active learning and participation.
