Do you need to learn Faroese or Danish or are you just curious about learning a new language?

In this trial lesson, I will try to teach you as much Faroese or Danish as I possibly can in the span of 30 minutes.

You don't need to prepare for the lesson in any way.

This is the right option for you if you have a text that you need translated to or from Faroese. 

I have been doing this type of work for private customers and companies as well as government institutions since 2012. 

I can work with Faroese, Danish and English on an advanced level and Norwegian and Swedish on an intermediate level. 

Faroese is a language with dialects that differ surprisingly much from the standard dialect that foreigners learn in the evening school here in the Faroes. One word or sentence in English can often be translated to Faroese in different ways. I use a standard Faroese when translating, but I can translate to and from the Suðuroy dialect and the Klaksvík dialect as well.

B: PRONUNCIATION AND VOCABULARY

- A lesson focused on the pronunciation of Faroese -

The Faroese language has a lot of variations. If you want to start practicing your vocabulary, you need to be able to pronounce the words and that is what we will focus on in this lesson type. 

For: 
- Beginners who are just starting to learn Faroese
- Language enthusiasts who just want to be able to pronounce yet another language
- Learners of all levels who wish to have their pronunciation analyzed and improved

Informal tutoring / Pronunciation and vocabulary

Maybe you need to practice Danish because you live in Denmark, maybe you just want to learn a new language. 

As someone who grew up in various parts of Denmark during the 90s, I have a neutral Danish accent most closely resembling the official capital accent, Rigsdansk. 

However, over the years I have adapted an old fashioned Danish accent which has the advantage of pronouncing most so called silent consonants. This accent highlights the connection between the way the language is spelled and what it sounds like and helps you overcome some of the biggest challenges with regards to spelling in the Danish language.

I have been doing this type of work on and off since 2012.

I use standard Danish with grammatical punctuation. 

The process is this: 
1: Send me the text or a sample of the text that needs to be translated / proofread
2: State which language you wish the work to be translated into
3: I will get back to you with an assessment of feasibility with regards to time and my ability
4: The work will be done on a per hour basis so you will be able to review and assess

The minimum price for any length of text is one hour. It is possible to combine several short texts into one job.

This lesson is for those who wish to learn Faroese and Danish at the same time. It's an experimental lesson type that I'm continuously working on. 

Faroese and Danish are widely different languages, contrary to what many people believe. The languages have completely different grammar as well as different sounds, but they still have some similarities that make it fun and possible to learn both at the same time.
