Anastasia

Progress is always a given with Anastasia - she keeps me leaning forward. Her lessons are interesting, fun and very helpful and effective. On top of that, she is one of the kindest and sweetest people I've ever met -- our lessons are like a brother and sister having a friendly chat - ranging from serious to teasing, and always enjoyable and helpful

My first lesson with Anastasia was awesome! I am not a great conversationalist in Russian but she didn’t seem fazed by that at all, she asked interesting questions and let me speak a lot, correcting my mistakes along the way. I was surprised that I could speak so much and that an hour could go by so quickly :)

I am so grateful for Anastasia. Let's face it, Russian isn't a simple language but Anastasia explains it clearly and puts it in a context that makes sense to me, as well as being endlessly patient while I struggle through it! She's also very funny and smart, so I look forward to every lesson, even when I'm not at my most intelligent.

We’re starting to discuss Russian folklore and comparing it to my country. Looking forward to practicing language while really using the language to communicate and learn.

We continued to converse on a particular them, expanding my vocabulary and giving me more authentic ways to express myself. We're in that slow uphill climb where one needs to just keep practicing, getting more words, solidifying grammar, picking up native-sounding phrasing and idioms. Anastasia does a great job of continuing to push me and keep the forward momentum going. But boy, I do sometimes miss the days of "wow, I just doubled my vocab by learning 100 words! Wow, I learned a new case today!" haha. It can be hard to notice the improvement, but let's be real, I couldn't talk about issues around technology use in children two or three years ago. I mean I could hardly talk about what I did over the weekend back then!!
