I am Richard Halim, a final-year university student from Malang, Indonesia, ready to guide you as you explore this wonderful language.
I have experience as an exchange student and have guided fellow exchange students from many parts of the globe. My passion lies in sharing about Indonesia with people from other countries and exploring new cultures and languages.

With online teaching, the possibilities for tools and methods are endless. To immerse my students, I occasionally conduct virtual tours using Google Street View, where I can introduce them to Indonesian street signs, adverts, and other interesting aspects that are rarely discussed in formal lesson plans.
I am able to teach Bahasa Indonesia to both beginner and intermediate-level students. With various teaching tools and materials, I am confident that regardless of your proficiency level, you will be able to pick up interesting tips and tricks about Bahasa Indonesia with me.

Language TutorTeaching English to fellow Indonesian University Students as a Student Mentor. Other than that, I also guide international exchange students in their program in Indonesia. I hope to help my students sao they can master daily situations and worth though daily conversations in Indonesian.

Bachelor’s - Leadership Exchange ProgramAt Singapore Polytechnic, I was trusted with representing my home country and institution as a delegate in their Temasek Foundation Specialists' Community Action and Leadership Exchange (TF SCALE), where I got to work on innovative solutions on global environmental problems as I network with fellow students and mentors from ASEAN Nations.

Bachelor’s - Human Resources and multiculturalism in a global companyAs a part of my undergraduate program, I was able to attend an online winter school exchange program held by KAMK Finland.
I got to improve my networking skills as well as get to know more about Human Resources within a global context

Bachelor’s - Entrepreneurship - Business CreationWith entrepreneurship studies, I got to do a lot of public speaking training as part of my marketing course, both public speaking in Bahasa Indonesia, and English. I am also a certified senior student mentor and a campus ambassador.
With my experience at the campus, I am also trusted to represent Indonesia and my campus in multiple international forums throughout the duration of my study.

Richard is a fantastic English speaker. He knows colloquial English and this really helps as he explains Indonesian grammar and vocabulary, as he can do it in various contexts.
A very good first lesson as a complete beginner in Bahasa Indonesia.

Richard is a great tutor! Two lessons in, and I feel like I have already learnt a lot. He made the lessons fun and interactive, and he made sure that it was conducted at a pace which I could grasp the language comfortably. He also gives a lot of cultural nuances during the lessons, which make it easy to understand the Indonesian culture. He was very appreciative of all the small or big progress I made during the sessions. I definitely recommend Richard as a tutor for anyone who is keen to learn Bahasa Indonesia!
