Mursal Ahmadzai

This is my second Dari lesson. Teacher Mursal is good at explaining Dari to me and helping me with pronounciation. After last class she even sent me some voice recordings of some of the phrases to help me practice. Tashakor Mursal :-)

I highly recommend Mursal as a Pashto teacher. I have had the pleasure of studying with her for almost a month now (12 lessons). She has been extremely helpful in covering all aspects of the learning process, helping me with: written comprehension, oral comprehension and speaking skills, and recommending media outlets in Pashto. In addition, her insight into contemporary Afghan culture is invaluable.

The dari teacher I had the privilege of knowing was not only incredibly beautiful but also possessed a remarkable heart-centered and supportive nature.

I’m really impressed. I’d had a couple months of very beginning Dari lessons previously (like greetings and numbers), but within five lessons, Mursal’s teaching helped me grasp enough basic building blocks of the Dari language to construct simple sentences. I really appreciate how digestible she can make the grammar, and how hard she worked on creating specialized supplemental materials that’s specific to my work needs. She is a very kind, attentive teacher. I highly recommend!

I loved the feedback Mursal gave me. She was clear, and as soon as I said something wrong, she corrected me. She also pushed me--in a good way--out of my comfort zone, suggesting better ways of phrasing things. It also helped me a lot to hear how she said things in Pashto, and just having a natural conversation in the language. Great teacher! Thank you!

It’s been almost two months since I started weekly lessons with Mursal, and I’m amazed at how much I understand from that short of time! Mursal is an excellent grammar tutor for beginners like myself — I was able to understand and form simple sentences in just a few lessons with her. The ways she structures the grammar instruction and varies the examples are really helpful. We spend half of the hour lesson on a new grammar lesson, and half on learning specialized scripts for my work. We are making excellent progress!
