I am Theano, a 37 years old professional teacher living in the old town of Thessaloniki in Northern Greece.
Throughout my life, apart from teaching, I’ve been a queer activist & human rights advocate, active within collectives and in non-governmental organisations.
I am also a self-taught musician, playing traditional musical instruments. I am always passionate about experiencing new cultures especially through traditional music from all over the world.
Having lived in Germany, Spain, Cyprus, USA and due to my working experience in the international humanitarian sector, I often find myself traveling, a great way to expand on my understanding of different life experiences.ฉันในฐานะผู้สอน
I have been a professional teacher of Greek Language since 2006 while I was still attending bachelor studies in Greek Philology.
I started teaching Greek as a second/foreign language in 2014 working as a volunteer with LGBTQi+ refugee/ migrant communities in Thessaloniki and since then I have been teaching Greek online to adults who live in Greece & abroad.
Fast forward, I continued teaching migrants and refugees, both children and adults, through my work in the NGO sector.
I am a certified member of the Evaluators of the examinations for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek Language and I hold a Diploma in teaching Greek as a second/foreign language.บทเรียนและรูปแบบการสอนของฉัน
I will enthusiastically explore with you your individual learning style in order to tailor the class to your needs.
I am eager to adapt and offer the class via different means and methods for example task based learning, specialized online platforms, educational online games and of course formally, offering specialized material and books in pdf form focused on teaching Greek to foreigners.
Depending on your needs we can work on:
-Communication and oral skills and pronunciation
-Greek language structure (grammar/ syntax etc.)
-Greek for business or professionals
-Greek for expats and Greek Diaspora

It's been a real pleasure having this 5-lessina course of προφορική ελληνικά with Theano! although my Greek is still very much awkward, she helped me a lot, we had fun and even shared personal stories! I really recommend her to other students ❤️🇬🇷🙏

Theano has a lovely manner and is very supportive. She has given me some really interesting documentaries to watch, which we then discuss together. It stretches and challenges me but is making me more confident in expressing my thoughts and extending my vocabulary.
