I am a fully qualified English language teacher from the UK (CertTESOL, MSc Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching from the University of Oxford). I have 6 years of professional experience working online for myself, language schools and, most recently, the University of Manchester.
I am passionate about helping people improve their language skills and find their own voice in English in a supportive, patient, environment.
I specialise in working with intermediate and advanced students to improve speaking skills, for both everyday and formal contexts (professional and academic).

As a teacher, I prioritise creating a supportive, patient, environment for learning. I am here to encourage and help you in your language learning journey, as I know what a long and challenging process it can be!
Two other features that characterise me as a teacher are related to my academic background. With a BSc in Anthropology, I am passionate about learning about different cultures and sharing my own knowledge about British culture. My recently completed MSc in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching has also helped bring me up to date with the latest academic research in the field of second language acquisition, and apply this knowledge in my own teaching.Мои уроки и стиль преподавания
It is very important to me to create a very interactive environment, where you are the one doing most of the speaking. I also like to create a relaxed, supportive environment for classes where we embrace mistakes as part of the learning process, rather than something to fear!
My teaching style is based on creating highly personalised, student-centred classes, respecting your goals, interests, and needs. I believe that we learn best when we focus on subject matter that is relevant and engaging for us, and I like to give you the opportunity to shape our class focus and style as much as possible.Мой учебный материал

Researcher and translatorI worked as a researcher and translator at the Universidad de Granada, within the EU H2020 project PERCEPTIONS. The project researched how migrants or potential migrants see Europe, and involved interviews, focus groups, and surveys with migrants and first-line practitioners.

I have worked with Benen outside italki for a long time and I love her classes! She is a kind and friendly teacher and listens to what I need with my English. In today class we focused on improving my sentence stress and rhythm and it was really good for my pronunciation! Thank you dear Benen!

Benen is such a kind, bright, and committed teacher. She makes you feel at home from the first moment, and she is a great listener too: she listens to you as a person and not just a student. She is very knowledgable and was able to help me with my academic job as well. Best English teacher I have ever met, by far!
