I am Mariam Jane, and I'm 23 years old from the beautiful country of the Philippines. I'm currently a third-year college student taking up a Bachelor of Special Needs Education. I have been a tutor for more than a year now, and I teach my students various subjects such as English, Science, mathematics, and Filipino. I've been tutoring kids and adolescents here in our town every day after I finish my class since I'm also a student. Teaching has always been my passion, and it makes me really happy whenever I see people learning new things with my guidance and support. I love seeing people make progress.Lastly,I have a TEFL certificate that proves I'm competent to teach English.Показать перевод

Being a teacher is a very noble job that everyone who aims to be in this field of career is surely fortunate enough to have because it requires both passion and dedication. I, as a teacher, make sure that my class is a stress-free environment, especially for my students. I always make sure to simplify difficult concepts and give easier and more understandable explanations so that my students can keep up with the lessons and enjoy learning at the same time. Aside from that, I also value the importance of building rapport between me and my students so that they won't hesitate to ask me whenever they have questions or need clarification. In terms of lessons, I always make sure that they are planned accordingly and based on a certain level of my students' learning capacity. For beginners, I see to it that we really start from the very basic lesson, and I also use learning materials that will help me deliver concepts in a more easy way. My teaching style is really easy; I don't stress my students in order to learn because I believe the best way to grasp knowledge is to give them extrinsic motivation that will also develop their intrinsic motivation to learn. I don't use a one-size-fits-all teaching style because I believe that learners are diverse and unique in their own ways. Making my students happy is also part of my style.Мой учебный материал

The teacher accepted moving the lesson from 8am to 10am when I messaged the teacher that I had trouble sleeping and was afraid to oversleep. This willingness to show consideration gives me a good impression of the teacher's character.

Getting started again with my Cebuano learning, this time focusing on listening and speaking and less focus on reading and writing. The first lesson was well structured and I was surprised to see how much I actually understood. Teacher Mariam knows how to level with me so that she can speak Cebuano most of the time without overwhelming me.
