Most people are not interested in the rules of any language - they find it boring, and many give up learning a language as they are intimidated by its theory.

Learning should be fun. I am all about fun. With a background in business and law and much experience and grey hair, and many interests, I am sure we could find interesting subjects to engage in and talk about.
I have a Bachelor of arts degree in English and a law degree (LLB).
I love people and enjoy watching them grow.
I have lived in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, the UK, and Switzerland and have travelled all over Europe.
I speak English, Afrikaans and very basic German.

My lessons are all conversation based.
We will talk to one another in a friendly and informal environment about anything you would like to talk about.
During the lesson, I will guide you while you speak.
After the lesson, I will send you some typed-up notes which will show you what you said, and I will suggest how you could have said it better - you know - like a native English speaker!
I have a wide range of interests - dirt biking, sailing, road cycling, mountain biking, canoeing, and many sports. In addition, I am a singer-songwriter and play a few different instruments and record my material.

CEODuring this time, I was involved in several entrepreneurial ventures and eventually became the CEO of a mid-sized company.
Experience ranged from working as a master franchisor to a partner in a graphic and design company, a recording studio, a corporate director and MD, and an engineering company.
Many of these roles involved mentoring people in various areas, including teaching them business skills and how to use English in the business environment.

It is always a pleasure to learn from and talk to Kevin. He helps me feel comfortable while speaking and I always learn some new words and expressions. If someone is looking for a teacher to improve the language, or even just to maintain and practice it regularly, Kevin is a great option.

After quite a time Kevin is getting more and more a friend than a teacher. He's really helped me improve my conversation skills, getting me out of my comfort zone and making me strive in conveying what I want to say with just the resources what come to my mind at that specific moment. This really end up activating my passive resources, my passive vocabulary, by reviewing his and my own notes during our conversations.
