I know that learning a new language is a process that can be difficult and overwhelming, but also incredibly rewarding, fun and interesting! So seeing people succeed and improving in the languages they are learning is what drives me as a teacher. My approach is one that is very uplifting and motivating - I strongly believe that you need to gain confidence in a language in order to be able to really speak it and have fun with it. Making mistakes is a normal and even vital part of this journey, just as much as studying and understanding grammar. But so is having fun and discovering new things and cultures!

It was very satisfactory to prepare students to obtain the Scholarships offered by the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) to study and to do their Internship in German companies

Most activities are set in English/German with some basic reading skills required. I may also speak entirely in German. Since I have many italki teachers myself, I know how important it is, to make the student speak. YES - YOU HAVE TO SPEAK! IN GERMAN! And I promise: It's not as hard as you think! Let's neglect the difficult grammar for a while and you will be surprised how soon you will be able to comunicate! Let me give you an example: What if I said: "Have he cat?" instead of "Does he have a cat?" - It's wrong, but totally understandable! -> So if you say "Er haben Katze?" instead of "Hat er eine Katze?" everybody will be able to understand you!

Let's have fun learning a new language together! Ich habe Japanisch und Philosophie an einer Universität in Deutschland studiert und nebenbei habe ich in einem japanischen Restaurant gearbeitet. Dort habe ich sehr viel japanisch mit meinen Kollegen und Freunden gesprochen! Ich habe im Studium viel mit Austauschstudenten aus Japan und bei der Arbeit viel mit japanischen Arbeitskollegen gesprochen. Ich verstehe, welche Schwierigkeiten Japaner bzw. Ausländer mit Deutsch haben und ich glaube, ich kann mit meiner Erfahrung weiterhelfen.

I always build my lessons on students' needs. As for tools I use, I like interactive boards and platforms. I do my best to make my students feel comfortable. As for connection, I prefer Skype but can easily switch to Zoom or any other app you like.

Learn German with Natural Conversations & Comprehensible Input I like to teach German through interesting conversations & dialogues. So, instead of going through grammar topics & speaking a lot of English, I will try to stick to mostly speaking German with you and I encourage you to speak and use as much German as possible as well. I might speak more slowly or explain words to you, but I will stick to German and only speak English if it's absolutely necessary. :) I am also by the way very happy to practice specific situations with you (buying a ticket at the train station, having a political discussion).
