Hannah⭐Adult/Kid

The best Chinese teacher on italki! I started as a complete beginner, and by the 2nd lesson, I could already read Chinese characters. I'm amazed that I haven't spoken a word of English during her lessons. Even though Hannah only speaks Chinese during her lessons, I understand her completely. Despite not having a strong reason to learn Chinese, I persist because of Hannah's excellent teaching skills.

When we practice conversation, I am always grateful that Hannah uses words I learned recently or new words she recently taught me so I can learn in context. She is a great conversationalist and the topics we cover are always interesting. She is always patient when I think of a word and uses Chinese to help me when needed [never English]. 谢谢老师！

I have taken lessons with many different Chinese teachers and I think Hannah is one of the best out there. She always makes sure to only speak Chinese during our lessons so that I get lots of listening practice, and even though my Chinese level is still very low, I never have trouble understanding because she always explains things very well using words I can understand, and is very patient when I need to hear things a second or third time. Our lessons involve a good balance of reading, speaking and listening, working through activities as well as just general conversation practice. I believe I have learned a lot since my first lesson 谢谢你老师 :)

Hannah is an excellent teacher. She has a great understanding of how important immersion is, and therefore speaks your target language, Mandarin, the entirety of the lesson. Another very important aspect to teaching is allowing the student little moments of silence to process new information, and conversely continuously facilitate meaningful conversation. She does all of this, as well as opening up to my goals as a student and immediately planning the next step forward for me. Very high quality teacher. 💫 10/10 💫

谢谢老师！Although it has been a long time since our last lesson, I am grateful to Hannah! She made sure I could understand new words and old words alike, through context and great explanations. She keeps the lessons fully in Chinese but still gives me enough context to understand words without using English. She is a very skilled instructor, teaching without using English, yet being very clear and understanding. I appreciate her efforts in being able to introduce just enough new words so that I can learn through context, as well as using previously learned words and grammar throughout the lesson! Always fun!
