I have a TESOL certification, a Teaching English To Young Learners certificate, and over 20 years of experience working with children. I specialize in English lessons for kids ages 4-17. I also offer relaxed conversation practice for adults.
I was a professional musician for many years and led music classes for children before I started teaching English online in 2021. I like having fun with my students and believe in positive reinforcement! I have an American accent.
I live in Kentucky in the United States with my dog. My son is in college here.

My lessons for children combine academic curriculum with constructive games and activities to make learning fun for my students. Much of my curriculum comes from ESL Pals, a website that provides English as a Second Language lesson plans and curriculum for teachers. I also use materials from Teachers Pay Teachers, an online marketplace where I access materials created by many U.S. and European teachers, and I create some of my materials.

My themed lessons for kids are fun and well-organized and include materials from many different sources like ESL Pals and Teachers Pay Teachers. We focus on learning vocabulary and practicing speaking, listening, and reading skills.
My conversation practice lessons for adults are relaxed and unstructured.
🎯 I send feedback after lessons and games to young students. I can send homework if requested.
✅ An adult must be present with students under 7 for the first lesson.
💻 Lessons for kids are conducted over ZOOM or VOOV. Lessons for adults can also be conducted over Italki Classroom.
🔔 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

Heidi started to work with my 8-year-old daughter a year ago and all I can say is that she is an amazing teacher. The communication parent/teacher has been excellent from the beginning and my daughter is always looking forward to the next class. She improved a lot thanks to Heidi’s work (even her English teacher at school saw the difference regarding her vocabulary, accent and reading).
