Mechanics of the Game

1. The teacher will start to ask a question (randomly) and let the student answer.
2. Then the student will ask a question to the teacher.
3. The questions should not be repeated.

Let's read some interesting and informative news to gain more vocabulary about a certain topic and practice your reading, comprehension and discussion skills.

 News material covers a wide range of topics based on what category the student wants. It could be about sports, health, science and technology, culture and entertainment,  economy and business, language and education, and lifestyle. This lesson is good for intermediate students, high intermediate, pre-advanced and above. 

 A PDF file of the chosen news will be sent to the student at the start of the lesson.

This has 4 sections

1. Vocabulary Part (with meaning and example sentence)
2. News Article 
3. Comprehension Questions (3 Questions about the news)
4. Discussion Questions (10 Questions related about the specific topic)

In this lesson, the student has the choice to repeat after the teacher in reading the vocabulary and news for proper pronunciation and intonation or to read everything by him/herself.


The Discussion section is the most important part where student can practice speaking spontaneously, answer follow up questions and share one's opinion well.

Will give Tagalog/Filipino Basic test for level check. Then Proceed with lesson proper and discussion.
