Hello, my name is Hans Simons. I'm from the Netherlands and have lived in many countries such as the US, the UK, Colombia, Italy and Spain. I love reading, a good movie, cooking, thus good food. As you can see, I have travelled the world, which has given me a lot to talk about.

After 4 years teaching here at iTalki, it is, time to update my profile a bit. Here at iTalki I have specialized in teaching Dutch to all level of students: from A0 to C1, inburgering, and medical Dutch for healthcare professionals. Besides Dutch, I also prepare students in English so they can go to Universities in Europe and the US.

My lessons are based on what you want and need. We make a plan together, that way you know what is going to happen and when it is going to happen. Most is conversation based with grammar and vocabulary explanations. In the exam preparation classes I'll not only show you the correct English use of things but also how to do the exam.
De Nederlandse taal wordt gegeven met de methode Zichtbaar Nederlands. We gaan eerst leren waarom zinnen op een bepaalde manier in elkaar gezet moeten worden, wat voor structuur we gebruiken en dan beetje bij beetje woordenschat uitbreiden met lezen, schrijven en praten. Hans was highly recommend to me by another student that i know.
In the introduction meeting today i sensed right away that Hans had the right capabilities, approach and interaction skills for teaching me dutch.
I have great expectation and have just booked another 10 lessons.

I feel like going over gramma rules does no longer help me much to grasp the language. I would rather practice speaking and ideally have a topic/text in advance to have some concrete vocabulary I can learn as preparation.

The trial class with Johannes went great. His vast experience in teaching was immediately evident. He was very clear about where he can help me and where he can't. I am certain that with him as my teacher, I will be a better communicator. Definitely recommended.
