Hello, everyone! My name is Naomi and I’m from Bohol, Philippines. I like to read mostly fiction and listen to almost all sorts of music, but these days I’m hooked on EDM, let alone trance music. Black and blue are my favorite colors, and my favorite animal is the cat. Also, I’m keen on learning foreign languages, such as Korean and German, because I’m interested to meet people from different countries and know their cultures whether firsthand or vicariously. I received my bachelor’s degree in literature from the University of the Philippines Visayas. I've been working as an ESL teacher since 2007. In addition, I've proofread the dissertations of some graduate students at Yonsei University in South Korea. Throughout my teaching experience, I've met different kinds of students ranging from young to old and from beginning to advanced. My passion for teaching English stems from my sheer interest in helping others understand the language in a clear, fun way. Since my students’ English levels vary, I make sure that my lessons cater to their proficiency. I can teach grammar, vocabulary words and expressions, essay writing, news article reading and discussion, pronunciation, and punctuation. If you’re aiming to practice speaking, I’m also capable of holding conversations about a variety of topics. Moreover, I believe repetition and reviews are essential to ensure my students’ comprehension and help keep track of their progress, so they can expect effective learning. I have received writing corrections for IELTS academic writing tasks. She gave me very detailed explanations with helpful advice. Further, we talked about changes she suggested to comprehend all aspects of the writings. Thank you very much for the lesson, and I look forward to taking the next lesson.
