My name is Emilie and I am from Georgia, USA. I have a neutral American English accent and I also speak Spanish fluently. I have lived in three countries: The USA, Ecuador, and Romania. I love learning languages and I am currently learning Romanian and Hebrew.Ik als leerkracht
I began working as a volunteer EFL teacher at a local elementary school in the fall of 2016. Since then, I've worked in the private sector and volunteered in the public sector, tutoring as well as teaching in classrooms. I've worked with all grades from Pre-K3 all the way up to the last year of high school, although I have more experience with preschool and primary school-aged children.
For adults, I can facilitate conversational practice as well as provide guidance for writing documents in English.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
In my lessons, I typically use the CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) approach as I feel that it is important for learners to begin communicating in their target language right away. For very young learners, I also use the TPR method (or the Total Physical Response method). This method allows learners to associate language with movements and thereby help them retain what they have learned. For both preschool and primary school aged children, I will typically use pictures to help promote and practice speaking and listening skills.Mijn lesmateriaal

Emilie is an execellent teacher! Very well prepared, speaks clearly, explains further where necessary, leaves a lot of room for the student to talk, asks complementary questions, and the conversations feels really natural. The lesson was fun and very useful. Thank you!
