Tom is really adept at explaining concepts, e.g. why a verb might be reflexive. Very helpful.

This is a wonderful way to speak a new language. Tom is patient while I look for the right words, the way he explains and puts the words to use is so helpful. Even after two classes I already feel more confident with German.

Tom ist ein sehr verantwortungsvoller Lehrer und aufmerksamer Zuhörer. Er ermutigt mich, mich auszudrücken, und zeigt mir dann andere (möglicherweise bessere) Möglichkeiten auf, es auszudrücken. Wir führen interessante Gespräche, die er mir überlässt. Er stellt zum Nachdenken anregende Fragen, die meine Fähigkeiten auf die Probe stellen.

My first few meetings with Tom have been great! He asks lots of questions, so you are constantly speaking. His questions are thought provoking and sometimes I feel like I don't answer them very well, but it's definitely stretching my skills and I'm learning lots of new words and expressions. He's very patient!

Tom is always a pleasure to talk to! My German has improved greatly thanks to his help, and with his patience and suggestions, I have grown the confidence needed to speak German. I couldn't recommend him enough!
