I am a native-born Afrikaans teacher with 10 years teaching experience in a bilingual classroom.
As a full-time teacher, I have obtained my BEd Honors in early childhood education which is why I am specialized to teach beginner and intermediate levels. All level students are welcome.
More recently I also gained experience in teaching English to non-English speaking students through an online platform and hearing the progress they have made is very fulfilling. I love the outdoors and cooking meals.Ik als leerkracht
Because I believe that teaching is a calling, it is my passion to see growth in every individual through the work we do. Learning a new language is like learning how to walk – you take it one step at a time.
I scaffold my lessons which makes it easier to accommodate beginner and intermediate students.
In a very relaxing and informal environment, I will walk this journey with you to develop your linguistic skills. I am experienced in teaching students of various ages through a fun-filled atmosphere.

My lessons will involve helping students develop their use of language by means of games, discussions and songs. I add language development into the lesson with practical activities and immediate corrections throughout the lesson. Homework is optional afterwards.

Janine is a great teacher. Her personality keeps the class enjoyable. The material covered and the explanations given are always very clear. In addition, Janine is always ready to adapt the class to any requests that you may have.

This was my first lesson with Janine. She took the time to find out my goals for the language, and then clearly explained how we would achieve those goals as well as her teaching style. Then we got to work. I look forward to my next lesson with her.
