I graduated from Korea Univ and studied German Language and Literature there.
After graduation, I entered the LG company and co-worked with USFK for over 2 years.

2018 - 2018
Academic TeacherI helped Korean students with their English studies. The English that students learn focuses heavily on vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension, so their listening and speaking skills are often weak.
Therefore, I shared with students the listening and speaking strategies I had mastered, and as a result, their English proficiency improved significantly. Some students even expressed gratitude for improving their TOEIC scores by more than 200 points in the future.
2019 - 2023
Online English TeacherI teach Korean on iTalki, but at the same time, I also have English classes for Koreans in Korea. I shared my English skills with Korean adults. Koreans often lack confidence in their English proficiency in the beginning. No matter how hard they try, they believe they cannot improve their language skills. So I tried to give confidence to students and motivated them greatly.
However, once they found listening much easier, they were genuinely delighted. There even was a doctor among them.

2005 - 2012
학사 - German LiteratureWhen I was in middle and high school, I devoted myself to studying and memorizing the daunting 33,000 English words starting from the SAT exam. However, despite all the effort I put into studying, the results were dismal... I couldn't utter a single word properly in front of foreigners.
But now! I can speak English more naturally than anyone else, like a native speaker.
thanks to this effort, I was able to enter Korea University and study German which was on my dream list.
경력
2013 - 2015
Computer DeveloperAfter graduation, I entered the LG company and co-worked with USFK for over 2 years.
To collaborate with the US military personnel stationed in Korea, English is essential. Although my position was a computer developer, I had to engage in frequent conversations for collaborative projects, and I took on the role of being the bridge for communication. Even though the project has ended, I still contact with coworkers from the US military and maintain a good relationship until now.

Gunny is such a great teacher. He puts a lot of time and care into preparing classes based on my personal interests and always has a lot of fun topics and ideas to share. I'm not only able to learn many new vocabularies and how to create more natural sounding sentences from his class, but we also speak in Korean for the vast, vast majority of the lesson which is great conversation practice. Even though I'm not yet great at speaking Korean, we are able to have many fun conversations and Gunny is incredibly patient, understanding, and encouraging. I recommend his K universe classes!
