Thanks for checking my profile. I'm Chiu from Guangdong China. I'm glad to be here and meet you guys. My major was Chinese language and Literature, and I've been teaching foreigners Chinese since 2017. (I joined Italki in 2020) To me, teaching Chinese is not just a job, it also helps me make more friends.

I can speak English fluently, so English will be our medium language during the course if necessary. Please leave me a message about what you wish to learn and for how long you have been learning before the class begins.
I have been teaching Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese for 6 years. I have helped students of various age groups and countries learn the languages. With thousands of teaching hours, I'm sure I will be able to help you find the best way to learn.내 강의 및 지도 스타일
1. Beginners: we will start from Pinyin and simple grammar that will be useful in every day situations. Also I will focus on your pronunciation, especially tones as Chinese is a tonal language.
2. Advanced learners: I would like to be strict and correct grammar mistakes. Furthermore, I will help you lead our conversation during the class, which will help you be more confident.
3. Short time users: I will offer you survival Chinese before you go on vacation, a business trip, meeting Chinese friends,or other needs.
4. If you are not sure about your level, I will help you find out and prepare a suitable study plan for you, so that you will have a clear idea of what you're going to learn.내 수업 자료

I've been taking Cantonese lessons with Chill, on average once every 1-2 weeks for two years, and have gone from novice to being able to carry on conversations about daily life, all thanks to Chill! She is very friendly, organized, and tailors the lesson and materials to your interests and background. We worked our way through one textbook, it took about a year to learn commonly used vocabulary, and now we're working our way through a second textbook with a focus on more advanced grammar. Along the way, Chill has supplemented and reinforced the textbook lessons with lots of additional vocabulary, colloquialisms, and current events topics. I am really happy with my progress, Chill makes learning Cantonese super fun and relatively easy. I look forward to my lessons, the hour just flies by! It also helps to practice speaking at home and review flashcards regularly, but the bestestest help has been the one-on-one tutoring with Chill :)

I've lost count how many lessons I've had with Chill. She is such a great tutor and we've grown a really good relationship over these months. I'm comfortable asking her about anything. I love our lessons and how we don't just study HSK but also learn about more casual/ colloquial vocabulary, which is used in everyday Chinese. I can see myself and Chill to keep going until HSK 4+ and staying long life friends!
