My lessons with Teppei have been great! The conversations are always enjoyable as he takes a keen interest in all sorts of things and he gives you the space to try and express yourself in Japanese as you're learning. Teppei is great at correcting errors, doing so without judgement, and without intervening too often to derail a conversation, I've learn a lot of useful phrases and words during my lessons. His English level is very high so 99% of the time he can give you a translation off the bat if you're searching for a word you don't know. More importantly the lessons are very enjoyable and a great way to practice speaking, would highly recommend!

Teppei is a tremendous tutor and somebody who is comfortable with any level that you are at. He excels in making sure he feels like your teacher and a good friend. The hardest part of speaking a language you’re learning is to be comfortable making mistakes, but he encourages you do to so, just so you can practice the muscle memory of speaking what you’re learning. As soon as the lesson was over, it felt like it had just started and I already can’t wait to schedule my next one. If you want to practice any form of a conversation or even just small grammar points, his explanations and tips come across as very thorough and caring.

After my second lesson with Teppei sensei, I can confidently say it was just as incredible as the first! Time flew by, and these lessons have quickly become some of the best I've had on my Japanese learning journey. Teppei sensei makes learning enjoyable and keeps me engaged, consistently offering praise when I get things right. He encourages me to embrace mistakes and reassures me that I sound natural when speaking Japanese. I'm genuinely excited about the progress I'm making, especially since I don’t have many opportunities for conversation practice. To all beginners: don't hesitate! Even if you're just starting out and feeling unsure, Teppei sensei is like your Japanese friend — the conversation feels casual, relaxed, and supportive. I truly believe he provides one of the most effective ways to overcome nervousness and improve at an exceptional pace.

Just had a trial lesson with Teppei sensei, and it was super chill and amazing! The casual vibe made it feel like talking with a friend. We were laughing, making jokes, and he encouraged me to just speak and make mistakes. Picked up new grammar naturally, and he allowed me to record the lesson to review later. I've had lessons with Teppei for a few months now. I couldn't recommend him enough! He has really mastered the ability of balancing the value of a free flowing conversation while also not letting too many mistakes go unchecked to ensure you're improving and not reinforcing bad practices while also having a good chat. Teppei is also highly proficient in English and can give you a translation or unknown word quickly and with accuracy. Making flashcards from words I didn't know from my lessons has helped me improve my vocabulary significantly. Finally the conversations themselves are enjoyable and something to look forward to!
