Born in Athens and currently living in Greece, I teach both ancient (Attic) Greek and modern Greek. Fluent in French and in German, I have some basic knowledge of Russian and Spanish; and I'm a beginner in Mandarin Chinese. I've got literary degrees from Harvard (where I received a BA and a distinction for translation into Attic Greek) and from the Sorbonne Nouvelle (where I received an MA in translation). I also have a Master of Arts degree in Economics from San Francisco State University and a PhD in philosophy from Université Paris 8. I worked many years as an English translator for the United Nations system.翻訳を表示する

Language teaching I thoroughly enjoy and I have considerable experience in it. I am interested in teaching persons committed to mastering Greek - to varying degrees of course, but on a solid basis. (If you only seek to acquire some Greek expressions for tourist travel, that is wonderful, and I wholeheartedly wish you a very good time - but I am not your man.)
NB: I teach Ancient Greek with the living, modern pronunciation, rather than with an artificial phonation system, no matter how erudite.レッスンおよびティーチングスタイル

In our trial lesson, Dr. Anthony helped me effectively to see grammar -and literature- related priorities in learning Ancient Greek at my level. That will be very useful in planning my pursuit of that language and I would very much like to continue being tutored by him.

Excellent first impression. Jordan was able to give me a concrete and interesting overview of Ancient Greek in just a few minutes. He also explained in detail his teaching method, program and benefits of learning the language in the way he suggests. I will definitely choose him as my teacher as soon as I will be ready for this challenging but promising linguistic journey. He seems to be the right professor to motivate me to reach the level of excellence which I am aiming at.
