I am 56 year old qualified teacher, born in South Africa. Teaching is my passion. I also love to take long runs and hikes. My husband and I do not have children of our own. I have a HDE qualification, that is a 4 year diploma in teaching. I love teaching languages, especially to foreign tongue users. I taught English to Chinese, Xhosa, and Afrikaans students. Currently I am teaching 2 Turkish students to speak Afrikaans. I draw up my own lessons, focusing on communication. Afrikaans is a relative new language and is 1 of the 11 official languages in South Africa. I am excited to teach the whole world about my mother tongue.レッスンおよびティーチングスタイル
I believe in step by step learning and teaching. My lesson starts with "Keywords" which will be used in the lesson. Then I recap the new vocabulary and start building sentences and questions. The student has ample time to practice reading and writing while working through the lesson. I do Revision after every 3 or 4 lessons done.教材

It's been one year since I started learning Afrikaans with Tanya. Her teaching method is traditional but systematic, and most importantly effective. Full sets of notes with ample sentence making practice while vocabulary is introduced little by little. And Tanya is nice and helpful! Glad to have her on my Afrikaans journey.
