My name is Patricia, I am a native German speaker with a MA in Latin, Ancient Greek and Philosophy, and also a degree in business administration/applied mathematics. My passion is teaching, coaching and languages (I have studied 9 languages so far), hence after being a business woman, I realized my dream: becoming a German & Latin teacher. * Communication centered lessons: free spirit, with correct grammar.
* Textbook: I use BEGEGNUNGEN (A1, A2, B1) and ERKUNDUNGEN (B2, C1, C2) + A/B/C Grammatik
* Google Docs: during lesson, I write down new vocabulary, expressions etc. in a shared google docs
I adapt to my students: if we use a textbook or not, up to you. Some students prefer free style lessons, others prefer more guided ones. Conversation is usually: your thoughts and experiences.

The German title "Diplom" corresponds to a master degree.
In order to study Business at the University of Applied Sciences, an "Abitur" (university entrance qualification in Germany) is required (sort of A-levels in UK).

The focus of Latin philology in German universities is on the language (translation, grammar etc.). Several of my students on italki need to pass a Latin exam at university for their university studies (language, history, religion...). My background enables me to prepare them for their Latin exams (so called "Latinum").

The lesson with Patricia are fun, but she also knows how to push a student. I find that fundamental especially when you start studying a language from scratch. Do you homework with her, and she'll be able to bring you behing your limit. I had other experiences with teachers (online and in person) and Patricia is by far the most professional one I have met. And, as we know, when keeping professionalism when you are constantly working remotely is non trivial. Moreover, Patricia has proved to be very honest when she could have overlooked certain situations. A subtle difference, though one that brings the conversation on another level.

absolutely over the moon about my lessons with Patricia. Patricia goes above and beyond on lessons and its exciting to see how far and wide the scope is. The lessons are like an adventure where I feel like if i am interested in something or deviate it ends up being part of learning. I even felt confident enough to write some German poetry 6 lessons in! Would highly recommend especially for people who learn in different ways or want more interesting subject matter or to try new ways of learning. Patricia is so passionate about so many different kind of arts and sciences and it makes lessons very exciting. highly recommend!
