Hola a todos! I am a native Spanish speaker and I have lived in the UK for 15 years. I have taught Spanish in good & outstanding secondary schools in England and I have also tutored 1-1 and groups of adults.
I studied English Philology in Spain and then I moved to the UK to study an MA in English Literature. I have also completed a postgraduate certificate in secondary education in MFL so I am a qualified teacher with 10 years of experience.
I love learning about other cultures and languages, and I have previously studied Arabic, Japanese, German and French, which helps me understand the challenges that Spanish learners may face. In my free time I love to run and to take part in races.Che tipo di insegnante sono
I am very patient, organised and I understand the importance of motivating students and supporting them with their learning by adjusting lesson plans and exercises to suit their needs. I enjoy planning interactive lessons where students have the opportunity to express themselves and apply their language skills in reading, speaking, writing and listening.
I have taught Spanish for 10 years in the UK and I have the experience to quickly learn about your level, difficulties you are experiencing and how to help you learn Spanish fast. We will discuss topics/activities of each lesson in advance and you will receive exercises to consolidate your learning.
All lessons are individualised. It usually takes 1h to plan a lesson for a client as all activities are planned for you (ppts, articles, YouTube videos, textbooks, questioning, listening tasks, exam skills practice, conversation practice). Depending on your level, I will gradually increase the use of Spanish in lessons to help you learn fast.

This was my last lesson with Lara before going to Spain. I do not know where to begin. Never did I think I would have so much confidence and knowledge in Spanish until now, and I am forever grateful to Lara for helping me achieve this. I recall in my first lessons that I kept telling Lara that I was so nervous and did not know hardly anything. Now, Lara and I are able to have full conversations in Spanish, and I feel so much better. Lara is the best teacher you could ever have, and that is not an exaggeration. Thank you so much, Lara! I truly appreciate you.

I have completed a number of classes with Lara and cannot recommend her lessons enough. Lara is a consummate professional. Her classes, for which she is extremely well-prepared, are structured, challenging and rewarding in equal measure. Lara's years of experience in language teaching are clearly evident and she deftly incorporates conversational practice into clearly explained lessons focused on grammar. Moreover, Lara is friendly, open and encouraging and these qualities make the learning process very enjoyable.

I started learning Spanish with Lara 6 months ago, in preparation for my daughter's wedding to a Spaniard. I was able to give the speech in Spanish (without notes) and converse with the Spanish in-laws. I will be 70 in October and never imagined I would make so much progress. Lara has been fantastic. Some days I have not felt motivated at the start of the lesson but she is so enthusiastic that I feel inspired by the end of the lesson.

He disfrutado mucho mi clase de español (castellano) con Lara, hoy. Hablamos de varias cosas diferentes incluido el irme de vacaciones en España a finales de octubre. También reímos mucho. Revisamos las diferencias entre el uso de los tiempos verbales: pluscuamperfecto de indicativo y pluscuamperfecto de subjuntivo. Creo que los entiendo mucho mejor que antes.
