I teach conversational Hindi or Bengali which includes vocabulary and formation of grammatically correct sentences. I also teach how to read the Hindi (Devanagari) script and Bengali script but that is completely optional. In order to speak the languages, to learn how to read is not required at all. It is just for personal interest.

These are fun classes where I explain the meaning of a Bollywood song. I also give English translation for the song with the Hindi lyrics in Roman/English script at the end of the class, so that the student can go through the translations at home.

We may take 1 to 3 classes to finish understanding one song, depending on your level of Hindi and how fast you can understand the songs. 

Some songs have cultural importance. I help students to better understand the relevance of certain lines in that song. 

I share screen and the students listen to the songs with me.
