Iryna Samchuk

I have been taking classes with Iryna for about a year now and have learned so much!!! I can talk to my Ukrainian friends in Ukrainian! It's amazing!! Iryna is a super talented and fun teacher. She has prepared lessons and is also always happy to answer all my questions that I bring in from texts, emails, books, etc that I run into outside of class. Lessons are very interactive and there is always time to ask questions. She is also able to adjust to a wide range of language backgrounds! Super awesome teacher all around!!!!!

Another lovely lesson with Iryna. The classes are well planned but she is also very adaptable and willing to accommodate my needs and questions. She has a great sense of humour and I always greatly enjoy my classes.

Another great lesson! I had a lot of fun role playing shopping for groceries at the market. My conversational skills are getting more confident, too. I always look forward to my lesson :)

It was a good first lesson and I feel motivated by Iryna. I left the lesson feeling inspired to continue learning Ukrainian. We also held the lesson in Russian as an intermediate tool of communication which was useful and challenging and helped to build connections between Russian and Ukrainian languages for me. Дякую :)

Iryna is a fantastic teacher. It is clear she has a lot of professional experience, as she has a strong intuition for how to adapt to the students level. I look forward to my lessons and am excited about the progress we have already made together. I also have a great time! Iryna has a charming, upbeat personality, and you can tell she genuinely enjoys teaching. We have been working with a textbook from which she reads first to provide an example of correct pronunciation. Our lesson now mostly takes place in Ukrainian, but sometimes either one of us will switch to Russian for a brief moment if something needs immediate clarifications. This is very exciting as our first lesson was mostly led in Russian! I am very grateful for how much I’ve been able to build my confidence. We also role play dialogues to work through new vocabulary, and that has also helped me immensely.
