Teacher Georgette

I had a enjoyable lesson with Georgette as we discussed upcoming exciting activities and was able to ask questions and provide my own personal insights in Tagalog. As with every lesson, we reviewed journal entries and she provided excellent feedback to make my writing more concise with improved conversational tone.

Today's lesson was a challenging review of the section going over commands, requests, wishes, and hope.

Another insightful, pleasant, and easy going lesson with Georgette. Recently, the Philippines had undergone a major tropical storm affecting a lot of the country. Besides teaching Tagalog, I really appreciate that Georgette shares her insights and stories to show how an event such as this one affects her and her community. On the more light-hearted side, we discussed Halloween events and learned about making requests, wishes, and expressing hope. Extremely useful to know. As always looking forward to our next lesson.

I just finished up my second lesson package with Teacher Georgette and can definitely say that I've very much enjoyed my time learning Tagalog with her. She provides an abundance of opportunities to practice and use Tagalog during our lessons while keeping it fun and stress free. In addition, her grasp of the language itself is top-notch and she can break down concepts well to beginning Tagalog learners such as myself. Although I still feel I have much to improve on when it comes to Tagalog conversation in general, without a doubt I can confidently say I've improved since starting my Tagalog learning project with Georgette several months ago. Looking forward to learning and improving in our coming lessons!

Georgette has done a wonderful job incorporating more Tagalog listening and speaking into our lessons by focusing on genuine interactions and conversation. The structured portion still is there to reinforce prior material and introduce me to more constructs needed for conversation. Everyone looking to learn Tagalog as primarily an English speaking would do well to give Georgette a try. She has truly been a joy to work with on my Tagalog journey.
