Makiko

Makiko is a great teacher! We have been studying Japanese with her for around 7 months, about once per week, and she has helped us advance tremendously. She is very patient with our mistakes and makes lessons fun.

I have been meeting regularly with Makiko sensei for about a year and I whole heartedly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn or brush up on their Japanese. She always brings a very fun approach to every lesson and, in a uniquely kind/firm manner, corrects my mistakes to ensure that I am absorbing the info as efficiently as possible. I definitely plan to continue taking lessons with Makiko sensei and it would be remiss to pass up the opportunity of having Makiko sensei as a teacher.

For anyone interested in learning Japanese I highly recommend Makiko-sensei. I had been studying the Genki 1 book on my own for several months but wasn't really sure what kind of progress I was making. I scheduled a trial lesson with Makiko-sensei and feel so lucky and fortunate to have found her as my teacher. Ever since the trial lesson I've been taking classes once a week for a few months now and the hour session is always a highlight of my week that I look forward to. Makiko-sensei is a compassionate and patient teacher that makes learning enjoyable while always ensuring you actually learn the material. I constantly have questions and stumble over previously taught subjects but she always takes the time to review with me with a smile on her face. I'll soon be upping to 2-3 times a week because I enjoy learning from Makiko-sensei so much. I've always had a dream of learning the Japanese language and with the guidance of Makiko-sensei I believe I can make that dream a reality.

Makiko Sensei is super easy to talk to and will correct your speaking in a very caring way. I was not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them with her! Highly suggest taking any of her courses at any Japanese level! :)

Makiko is excellent as always! She is always able to assist with sentences and words without saying it for you. She's an amazing teacher and provides a lot of insight into the language and help sound natural with both the particles and tone for words to be the most correct. Highly recommended!

Makiko is always an amazing teacher, and I really enjoy every class I have had with her! She has been helping me with pronunciations a lot lately, and I feel like that will do a lot for consistent speaking with people. She's highly encouraging, and makes any mistakes into a good opportunity to learn. I highly recommend her and feel like she provides a great environment to learn!
