So.. About me..
I live in southern Brazil. yup, we have winter. Mild ones.
My town is Rio do Sul, in the state of Santa Catarina.

I love animals, nature, dinosaurs, psychology, cooking, rollerblading, swimming, photography, painting, bonsai videos, tech videos, dictionaries (no wonder), languages ... even the ones I'll never speak.
I love talking to people and getting to know them.

Communicative, lexic, audiolingual, active methodologies.
I've been a translator, interpreter, ghost writer, teacher.

Anyway, some years ago I started teaching my own way, and that's why I'm still here.
Teaching and learning organically, autonomously, functionally.
Using mistakes productively.
Not for shaming or making you anxious.
Making language real.
Not a PDF or Power Point.
It's language. It makes sense while there's communication.

Jackson is a wonderful person and one of the best language teachers I've met in my years of studying various foreign languages. His pedagogy really WORKS. He made me change ineffective habits (e.g. taking lots of notes but never reviewing them) and replace them with practices that actually challenge me and allow me to correct mistakes, memorize new vocabulary, and improve pronunciation and listening. He is encouraging, but realistic. As someone who wants to achieve an advanced level of Portuguese, I appreciate his authentic feedback on my actual skill level (as opposed to too much praising and scaffolding). Feeling extremely lucky to work with a teacher that keeps me on track toward my goals.
