Hello, my name is Gabriel David Jiménez, I'm a teacher, journalist, and photographer in Caracas, Venezuela. I studied and have a bachelor's in Communication at the Santa Rosa Catholic University, plus I have had many experiences in communication in general. I love languages and learning, so since I was a child I started to learn English on my own.
I know about many words, cultures, traditions, and accents all around Latin America and Spain. I live in Caracas and I would be glad to also show you my city and the way we live here in the Caribbean. In a class with me, you'll definitely find a funny, open-minded, and nice person, all I'll ask for you in return is a smile on my classes.Me as a Teacher
I think I was born with the talent of speaking a lot. I don't know if it came from my parents or I just develop it myself, but I can guarantee that you'll get a non-stopping conversation where we can talk about a lot of things in a nonjudgemental and funny environment.
In my classes, I usually share my screen so I can show you something written, or a video or anything that could help you to understand me much better. So we'll be having classes with presentations, google maps, youtube videos, and scanned images.
Also, I like most of the input to be in Spanish, if not all of it. So asking for a translation from me, will at first come in mimics or showing you an image.My lessons & teaching style
I use several methods for us to engage in conversation and also to learn a lot more.
1) Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS). That's my name on Italki, meaning this is my main method in most of my classes. It consists of us creating a story, learning new words, looking at the Spanish structures, and practicing a lot of your speaking. YOU'LL BE SPEAKING SPANISH FROM THE VERY FIRST CLASS.
2) Guided readings. I have a few books, stories, and other props for us to practice reading and understanding the structures of Spanish with the help of a few input and output exercises.
Grammar is important to me, but we'll learn it in a different and not boring way.My teaching material

Gabriel is SUCH a good teacher. He's really made for it. His teaching style is comprehensive and fun. We always laugh and learn. It's hard to find a great teacher with an equally great attitude. I chose Gabriel almost a year ago because his introductory video showed that he was smart, funny, sympathetic, and energetic. He's also very communicative.
