Hi there! I am Woncheol.
Everyone has their own motivation when starting to learn Korean.
I am learning German now because my future fiancèe is german.
What is yours? What makes you spend your precious time and money on Korean learning?
No matter what it is, I would love to hear your stories behind it.
Me as a Teacher
1. It has all started as a hobby, but now I have my passion for teaching Korean professionally.
2. I have been helping other people with Korean since 2011 through language exchange, Korean language course in the church.
3. I have professionally started teaching Korean in 2016 (I got my teaching certificate from the South Korean government in 2016)
My lessons & teaching style
🐶 Beginner
Only focus on the Korean alphabet, useful phrases and essential grammars that you definitely need to build the sentences in Korean BY YOURSELF! (No No complicated grammars.)
🐱 Intermediate
Learn how the native actually speaks by reading dialogues and discuss things only in Korean. (I will keep correcting your pronunciation and sentences along the way but explain grammars only when they are asked.)
🐱 Advanced
We will use Korean news to discuss issues. (Or any other topic in your interest.) + advanced level vocabs
- For everyone
1. my own teaching material
2. I send you the powerpoint file that we used during the lesson for your review.

Kind and polite as always. English isn't my first language but Woncheol explain everything good and easy understandably. I'm looking forward for the next lesson.🙂

I enjoy the classes a lot as Woncheol always picks out interesting topics and I feel that they are a really good opportunity to improve my speaking abilities!

I have completed a package of five lessons and have purchased, another. My two favorite things are how Woncheol will explain advanced grammar if asked, while making clear you don't need to get it right at your level, and his responsiveness providing writing corrections between lessons. I have submitted 2-3 sentence lists and short essays a week; getting corrections within a few days each time. Writing is hugely powerful for learning Korean quickly and I encourage you to use this.
I also really like the annotated power point slide format used for the lessons because it means there is a living record of the content covered in class. It's like a language workbook in lecture form. One method I like is reading a Korean conversation one week and reviewing it next week by translating from English.
I have been happy with the brisk pace but I spend a LOT of time outside class learning vocabulary with a frequency dictionary. I'm taking classes for grammar and speaking practice.
