⭐️ Châu Nguyễn

Chau is a wonderful teacher. She is patient yet precise with helping students in their pronunciation, very well prepared, and she makes her classes interesting and fun as well as informative.

Similar to Miska, I have 2-3 short 30-minute lessons with Châu every week. This works well as it allows time to complete the homework that Châu sets, and we review the homework and learn new concepts during each lesson. During the lesson, Châu uses a mixture of Vietnamese and English, asks and replies to questions, and encourages two-way conversation in Vietnamese. Châu is a very patient teacher, explains concepts well and makes each lesson fun. Now that I have completed 50 lessons with Châu, I am able to have basic conversations with Vietnamese friends, as well as read and reply to text messages that friends send without using Google too much. If you are interested in learning Vietnamese and are looking for a very good teacher, I can definitely recommend Châu.

I have been learning Vietnamese with Châu for around 5 months now and I feel like my Vietnamese skills have improved greatly. We have had regularly 2-3 times a week short 30 min conversational Vietnamese lessons. During these we use Vietnamese to discuss wide range of topics, but usually focus on a single topic on each lesson. Châu is excellent at facilitating conversation. She also always adapts her speech speed and vocabulary to my level, which helps me to participate in conversation. If I want to say something more complicated or something I don't yet have the vocabulary to say, she helps me to say it. I also appreciate that she gives regular feedback on my pronunciation or grammar. In addition to all this, she is a kind, fun and encouraging person. And it's worth mentioning that her English is very good, which really helps explaining and understanding new concepts. So, if you are looking to improve your conversational Vietnamese skills, I would highly recommend Châu!

Châu is an excellent teacher. She will help you with pronunciation when you need it, and will help expand your vocabulary. Châu always picks interesting topics to talk about each lesson and is very pleasant to talk to. Châu is even willing to give you extra listening resources outside of the class. I would highly recommend Châu for anyone looking for a teacher that provides speaking practice.

Today was my 100th lesson with Châu in just over a year. I would still describe myself as a beginner, but Châu has taught me enough to be able to visit Vietnam (twice) and have very basic conversations with local people who do not speak English. Lessons with Châu are always fun and engaging. During the week we have 30-minute lessons to fit with my work schedule, but have 1-hour lessons at weekends where we can have longer conversations and spend more time on improving pronunciation. Make no mistake - Vietnamese is a difficult language for most English speakers to learn, but Châu is a very effective teacher and I would highly recommend her to others.
