About Me

My lifelong passion is helping people connect across cultures through language education. To that end, I started a language school in Mexico City and develop unique materials for learning languages through interesting content, such as short stories.
I've lived more than 1/2 of the last 7 years in Mexico, which is how I became fluent in Spanish. Now I will be spending the next 6 months or so in Taiwan, and am learning Mandarin!
I also love organizing events, playing board games, and meeting new people.

I've taught over 600 lessons on Italki, taught for Brooklyn English school in Guadalajara, Mexico, and then started my own school in Mexico City, which I closed at the start of the pandemic. I've also recently received my 120-hour TEFL certificate from tefl.org (July 2022)!My lessons & teaching style
I generally teach through a conversational method, providing corrections in 10-15 minute intervals and exploring topics that help students to expand their vocabulary--from family to philosophy to fulfilling our dreams. I also enjoy teaching advanced pronunciation and have a deep understanding of English and Spanish grammar that allows me to teach naturally through conversation and through explanations as necessary.
For beginners of English & Spanish, I provide free materials and teach grammar, pronunciation, and conversation step-by-step.
I also have extensive business experience with backgrounds in marketing & software development, so we can work on technical language as needed.My teaching material

2018 - 2018
TeacherI helped launch the Brooklyn English school in Guadalajara with a friend of mine. I was one of the primary teachers, and taught English there for 4 months.
2019 - 2019
Owner/TeacherI started Spanglish School CDMX and the Mexico City Spanglish Exchange, two sides of the same coin.
In the Spanglish School, we give group English, Spanish, and French classes using a democratic conversational method where the students decide on the topics to discuss together.
The Mexico City Spanglish Exchange is an language-exchange event business. We organize events almost daily, catering to a variety of interests, in each providing the opportunity to practice language with others.
