Hi, my name is Leo! I am a kind and compassionate Russian tutor. I will help you feel more confident speaking Russian. I am a native Russian speaker from Lithuania and I have been living in the UK for the past 6 years. I love cultural exchange and meeting new people - that’s why I love tutoring! I have a diverse professional background in science, engineering, mental health and teaching. I also enjoy travelling, going to cultural events, arts and crafts, writing and learning about topics related to mental health, sociology and human rights. I am lgbtq+ friendly :)

Me as a Teacher

I am friendly, kind and compassionate! It's important to me to create a supportive learning environment so my students feel comfortable with me. I am a good listener and encourage my students to speak more. My goal is to help students improve their language abilities as well as their confidence in using the language. That's why I like to focus on topics and skills that are practical and useful in the real world. Of course, it will look different for everyone. I value the input of my students and adapt to their learning styles and personalities.

My lessons & teaching style

The goal of learning a language is to be able to use it, right? That's why I focus on what is useful to each student. I tailor my lessons to the interests and needs of my students to make learning engaging, fun and motivating. I offer Conversation Practice lessons: We will practice speaking! It can be a natural conversation or a discussion on a specific topic. I can also send pre-lesson materials for us to talk about.

Leo was a fantastic teacher I felt at ease straight away. she was able to answer any and all of my questions and able to translate vocabulary instantly and even offer me synonyms
