Hi,
My name is Karen. I am from Suriname. In 1975, my country became independent from the Netherlands. So, Dutch is my mother tongue.
I love languages. I am proficient in English and I also speak French, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish and the local Sranan Tongo.
Exploiting new destinations, meeting people and learning about different cultures are my favorite activities. I am also interested in getting to know you!Me as a Teacher
I studied tourism, business management and law. Since 2007, I have been teaching different subjects to adolescents, adults and professionals. I am pedagogically qualified to develop study materials, to teach and to assess students. If you are interested in learning practical or business Dutch, you are at the right place. Amazing lesson! Thank you for adapting the lesson to my needs. As I didn't feel very good it was nice to have a lighter lesson about cultural festivities in Suriname. You are the best!

Karen is a very prepared teacher. She is patient and don't mind to repeat things many time. I love to study with her, especially during late evening as we always study poems or cultural local stories and it is very relaxing while learning so many new things! Taking a lesson with her is always awesome! Dankjewel!
