My name is Abdullah (Short name is Abodi).
I am Syrian and I graduated from Al Baath University with a degree in Arabic literature. Currently, I am working for an NGO as a translator, as I am fluent in English, Arabic and Turkish. Teaching is my passion and I would like to transfer my passion to you. I love having general conversations about culture, languages, and history.
As for my leisure time, I love playing table tennis and I am good at it :) I love reading Arabic novels and I can recommend some nice Arabic books to read....
Me as a Teacher
I believe the best way to learn a language is to love it. Yes, I learned English and Turkish this way.
I started teaching Arabic by volunteering at Small Project Istanbul (SPI), an NGO which helps displaced Syrians in Istanbul. Many volunteers at SPI were interested in learning Arabic and I was a perfect match for them. They encouraged me to become a teacher as they believed in my teaching methods. That was the reason I began teaching on Italki in February, 2017.
I am an easy going, flexible teacher. I enjoy being a community teacher because I prefer conversation to grammar which is why I am also working at Conversations Unbound: an NGO that connects students from America with Arabic.
My lessons & teaching style
We will talk about our lives, our hobbies, etc. All the while, I will be introducing new words and correcting your mistakes. Our goal is to make your conversation and speaking skills as natural as possible with playing some games
I’m a patient person and I will be speaking slowly.

Abodi is a great teacher. He explains very well and also gives examples so that I understand everything. He also asks questions so that I talk to practise.
