A passionately dedicated Luo and Swahili community teacher from Kisumu Kenya. When I was in high school and even in college, my major was communication skills. It is a lot of fun. I love Swahili as my national language and Luo as my mother tongue. I am fluent in them. As a community teacher am comfortable with students of all levels. I am dedicated, punctual, patient and polite. I have interacted with learning institutions as an instructor in computer disciplines and as a volunteer community teacher of Swahili and Luo language. I also pastor a church where we majorly communicate in Swahili and Luo. I studied a diploma in Project Planning and Management and Information Technology and gained a lot of skills on matters of both written and oral communication.

Learn Luo and Swahili with me! After graduating high school, I got an opportunity to teach Kiswahili in the same school for 4 months. Later on, I pursued Bachelor of Education (Arts: Kiswahili and Geography) for two years: I didn't graduate.

I am fascinated about learning variety of languages and I know through this we can all learn together. I mostly enjoy teaching teenagers and young adults because I feel that at this age there is a lot to share and talk about on life especially, plus I teach across all topics, However anyone of any age group is welcomed to learn with me I have 2 years experience in home based learning and I know you will enjoy every lesson we have. I also give my students a chance to decide on the topic of discussion for the lesson.

I am patient and empathetic which are very important skills required when it comes to teaching a new language. I specialize in the basics of Swahili and Dholuo, conversation practice and sentence construction in both Swahili and Dholuo language. For several years of working in my field of work, I have perfected my confidence and conversation skills since it involves meeting and having a one on one conversation with my clients. My confidence will also be of great help as an italki community tutor since all the lessons will be conducted virtually.
