My name is Ilaria and I'm from Milan! I'm a certified italian teacher for foreigners and an experienced travel agent! Tourism, cultural exchange and languages are my passions!
I've been teaching italian for the last 8 years, working for different language schools and cultural associations in Milan and abroad.
I've been working with students of all levels, ages and background (immigrants, high school students, kids, adults ,seniors and college students).

I lived in Ireland, in Portugal and in the Netherlands.

My classes are conversation driven. I speak italian from the first lesson and you will realize that this is possible, even for a beginner!
Together with speaking, I always include some reading, listening, vocabulary, writing and a focus on grammar rules.
During my classes I like to use different materials like songs, images, games, role-plays, poems and videos.
I like to prepare tailor-made lessons according to my students needs and interests.
I’m also an experienced travel agent and author of articles related to tourism and culture.
I can also help professionals who need Businness Italian classes or Italian classes for the tourism industry.

Let me write in English, so potential students can understand what a competent tutor Ilaria is. Despite never having seen a blind student, she was immediately able to adapt her teaching method to my needs. She never ceases to amaze me with her infinite patience and compassionate attitude. I'm not someone who needs grammar explained 1000 times, as I happen to have an aptitude for language and a lot of background in linguistics. In fact, I'm studying to become a language teacher (and possibly a researcher). Unlike many others, Ilaria understands that I don't need to have anything translated or explained in English and so we communicate in Italian all the time. Besides English, I'm now studying Italian at university. Reading the wide variety of text sorts for my Italian studies makes me realise just how much of a gap there is to fill in my world knowledge, mostly due to my blindness. Ilaria will explain things even three times in a row, without th slightest judgment.
