Tycoon

My Korean learning experience with Tycoon 선생님 keeps getting better and more enabling. As a translator, I think learning a new language can be both exciting and challenging, and he uses that in just the right way to present not just new vocabulary and grammar, but also to introduce aspects of the Korean culture- like a virtual immersion experience. I love that he emphasizes how to talk and sound like native Koreans, focusing on proper pronunciation and everyday expressions, among other essential elements of the language. My Korean writing skills have advanced significantly, and I enjoy watching Korean drama even more now because I can pick up new expressions and understand more from just listening. I started thinking in Korea - and not in English or in Arabic (my first language), which helps when writing sentences. I’ve been taking lessons with Tycoon 선생님 for over a year now and I’m happy to have found a teacher like him.

I've completed three 5-lesson packages with Tycoon 선생님 and can vouch that he is good at what he does. Tycoon adapts his lessons according to your interests and life experiences, making it easier to understand the topics at hand. Tycoon is also really easy to talk to and extremely patient. I'm sure I take forever to form sentences in Korean 😂 but Tycoon gives me the time to think it through on my own and never prompts too much like some other tutors I've had in the past. In short, Tycoon is great and you should definitely engage him as your tutor

Wow I had a lot of fun during our 2 hour lesson with sonsengnim today. I can really feel that I'm making some little progress in my Korean. Sonsengnim is so kind in his teaching methods congratulating you whenever you give correct answers. He is very supportive. And whenever you don't know the answers he helps you find them before giving them out lol. I don't review much as I sometimes forget the vocabulary that I should know but he never scolds you. I don't know how the other teachers are in here but I can affirm that Tycoon sonsengnim is doing all he can to make you progress. 정말 감사합니다 선생님!!!!

It was another fun session with Tycoon. He has a very calm and warm personality so I don’t feel rushed to speak, which is good when you are trying to construct a sentence in a foreign language with a limited vocabulary and unfamiliar sentence structures. I also always appreciate that he introduces new words and expressions in relation to what I said as well, not only giving me corrections, which is already helpful.

Tycoon is so patient with beginners! He took the time to answer all my questions, and he provided really useful beginner phrases for me to start studying right away. He is very engaged in the lesson and is a very friendly guy! Highly recommend.
