Ich als Lehrkraft
I teach real, natural and practical Japanese in very effective ways. I don't use unnatural Japanese such as 私の名前は (watashino namae wa) ! So you will be able to speak like native speakers! If you need to use English in our lesson, we can do so. No worries! However, let's use Japanese as much as possible for your learning, of course.
Feel free to ask me other requests and questions!

Certified Bilingual Secretary - The Japan Secretaries Association 日本秘書協会 - 2018To pass this exam, candidates must take a high-level test on secretarial work, business etiquette, and an advanced English test. Passing is extremely difficult.
Japan Secretaries & Administrative Professionals Association is the only association in Japan that represents a wide range of companies, from major corporations to startups, focusing on secretaries and business professionals. It was established in 1968 with the approval of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
I have a meeting with my partner's Japanese clients next week, and Ayano has been incredible at helping me prepare.
This has so far included:
- Going through a list of nitpicky questions I sent her on language, actions, and etiquette, methodically answering each one with text, images, and even doodles!
- Bringing her own list of typical Japanese business dinner small talk topics to see how prepared I was to answer them (answer: not at all)
- Making time in class to walk me through structuring a letter to them, after I'd struggled to write it on my own
- Sending me links to resources on topics relevant to these clients
- Making herself available to answer questions at any time, even outside classes
This is on top of our usual conversation practise at the start of each class, which has been as valuable as always.
Ayano has introduced me to so many potential opportunities (and pitfalls!) for this visit, I don't know what I would have done without her. Truly above and beyond.

More 'nai-form' practice, but this time with irregular verbs added in. Ayano sensei has made this lesson very relevant by creating a real world scenario in a maid cafe where you must ask if you can do something, or if you're being asked to not do something. I'm still a little slow at this, so I will review the material before the next lesson. Ayano sensei's lessons are always fun!

Ayano is always well prepared with topics, vocabulary and exercises. She puts a lot of care and effort into her lessons, and it shows. She also presented me with a lesson plan for upcoming weeks today, and it is great to know that she's got everything planned out so well in advance.

In today’s lesson, Ayano-san and I covered many interesting topics customized to my interests that pushed me to practice listening, reading, and speaking. Whether she’s providing behind-the-scenes insight into the production of the Demon Slayer anime or we’re studying an intriguing article about how Minecraft is used to help teach English, the topics are so engaging that I sometimes forget I’m quickly learning new and useful vocabulary and grammar. These lessons have become an enjoyable and highly effective way for me to advance my language skills.

I highly recommend booking with Ayano-san! Today's lesson (as always) was well-structured, covering everything from vocabulary to cultural insights. I loved how we delved into topics she customized to my interests, like the differences in anime styles and discussed light novels, which made learning so much more engaging. Ayano-san is excellent at breaking down complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand explanations, which really helped me improve my reading and comprehension skills. If you’re looking to learn Japanese in a way that’s both fun and informative, Ayano-san is the teacher to go with!

Ayano-san is undoubtedly one of the best teachers on the italki platform. Instead of my usual weekly review (which I did have a fantastic lesson today) I wanted to use a specific example.
I started weekly lessons with Ayano-san one year ago and here's the sentence we studied in the first lesson:
初めて見た日本のアニメは、なんでしたか?
Last week, this was the sentence we studied in detail:
日本ではタバコは法律で20歳からです、 そしてオリンピック選手のガイドラインは、 20歳以上でも基本的に喫煙と飲酒は禁止です。
In just a year, I have gone from N5 level sentences to N3-N2 level sentence study thanks to Ayano-san's incredible teaching. I can't say enough good things about her teaching style and recommend Ayano-san's lessons to everyone.
