Certified Dutch teacher As a teacher i am patient and flexible. An agreement is an agreement, so there may be expectations on both sides. I am serious about my work, but a joke can always be had. I give writing assignments, reading and listening assignments and we will talk as much as possible in Dutch because that is how you learn best in my opinion. And if you need me outside of classtime, i am always available by phone for questions in between.

I once thought I wasn’t good at languages, but now I use five on a daily basis —Dutch with friends and family(my native language), English and Spanish for work, German to communicate with my PhD university, and Portuguese with my in-laws (my partner is Portuguese). This experience has shown me the importance of understand why you are learning a language to overcome practical challenges.
