I am a French native teacher living in Tokyo. I have studied languages with different methods: in college (English), in full immersion (Spanish), in language schools (Japanese), and with online courses (Italian).
This is what I think:
👉 Learning random words doesn't work > Instead, learn sentences with key vocabulary using a topic that matters.
👉 I had strict teachers and it was so stressful, that I wanted to give up > Learning a language should be fun! If you are not having fun, the method is wrong.
👉 Without pronunciation teaching and speaking practice, you will never be able to speak naturally > Learning the pronunciation rules is crucial to speaking AND understanding French.عني كمعلّم

🎯 Speak French naturally on topics that matter to you: Why do you need to learn French?: Is it for work? Is it for tourism? Something else? It's important to focus on common structures and vocabulary that French people use in real life and in contexts you are interested in.
🎯 Speak French like a native: My method is focused on pronunciation and goes beyond traditional French teaching which usually doesn't include this crucial part. I use a shared Google doc in which I take notes during the class and put the homework.
✍ Homework: Dialogues, audio, grammar/vocabulary exercises from textbook, and my own vlogs and podcast episodes+ other resources youtube videos, news...)
For Beginners: We build the foundation with:

For intermediate students:

Trial lesson with Carine was very productive. She took the time to get to know my goals and what we can do to work on these areas. We had an informal introduction in French so she can assess the level of my vocabulary, listening skills, and production skills. She was very patient, and I really felt comfortable.
